After your Spanish lessons, it is nice to relax and practice with fellow students while tasting a craft beer in one of the several (almost 15) local micro breweries. These have been producing micro-brewed beer in Bariloche for a long time, but specially during the last 15 years many new micro breweries run by young enthusiastic “barilochenses” have been opened.

1. Manush: Located in an old bavarian-style house in Bariloche, is the place to sample the line of craft beer made in Bariloche. There is a variety of dishes to sample with their famous beers. Taste Victoria!
2. Berlina: Berlina's stout (dark beer) is highly reccommended by the most demanding beer sommeliers. However, this suggestion is also for two other varieties: Munich and India. The three of them make up a trilogy.
3. Antares: Antares is present in Bariloche as the branch factory marplatense Brew.
4. Konna: It is a cozy, easy going pub   very popular with the locals.
5. Bachmann: A small factory Brew. You can also taste local cuisine, pizzas and snacks.
6. Blest: the most traditional, first and orignal micro brewery in Bariloche. Test Stout!

10 Things To Do in Rainy Days By Mariya Nesheva

Note during COVID19: If you would like to try a free online Spanish lesson, contact us for more information. This would be a great way to spend a rainy day!

  • Autumn is beautiful in Bariloche – I would even say – the autumn in Bariloche is the most beautiful I have ever lived. The trees, the sunsets, the sunrises, the lakes, the mountains – everything turns into orange, yellow, red, purple… the colors are just magical! And yet, there are days and weeks when the rain comes and one cannot really enjoy all the outdoor activities that Bariloche has to offer. So that is why I came up with a list of “ Things to do in Rainy Days”.
    • Focus on your Spanish – in those rainy days, you can really focus on your lessons and do your homework after school.
    • Stay with us for our after-class activities – we will be cooking delicious argentine treats, watching a movie or playing games. (only in Spanish!)
    • A day of chocolate – Visit the museum of chocolate and go for a hot chocolate in one of Bariloche’s famous artisanal   chocolate stores – We highly recommend Mamuschka or Rapanui (in calle Mitre, 5 min walking from school.
    • A day of Spa in Villa Sofia – enjoy a relaxing afternoon in the jacuzzi, sauna or the steam room, or treat yourself with a massage. This hotel is just 20 min walking from our school.
    • A Fondue evening – in cold days, a warm cheese fondue in one of the many cozy Swiss Restaurants in town or in Colonia Suiza will really warm you up.
    • A cultural day – visit El Museo de la Patagonia, el Museo Paleontológico, or join a free guided tour of the famous Llao Llao hotel (every Wednesday at 3pm).
    • Happy Hours in local breweries – there are many good micro-breweries in Bariloche – all making their own beer, and offering delicious pizzas and picadas: Blest, Berlina, La Cruz, Manush, Yeshka, Konna – the list continues but pls take at least 2 weeks to visit them all – we want you to be in class at 9am every day! (Happy Hours are usually between 6-8pm)
    • Enjoy a delicious Argentine stake with a bottle of red wine – Our recommendation: Alto el Fuego. (10 min walking from school).
    • Go to the cinema – try to watch a movie in Spanish! (in Shopping Patagonia)
    • Spend more time with your host family – we highly recommend students to choose staying in a family. This allows them to fully immerse in Latin American culture, share home made meals, local customs and traditions and interesting conversations.

I am sure that until you go down that list, the sun will be back and you can run into the next adventure!

  • NEW!! Escape the Room! Since 2016 we have a great option for rainy days or anytime you want to have fun with your friends! An Escape Room is a real-life room escape game which requires players to work together to solve hidden puzzles, riddles and hints to escape a locked themed room, before the 1-hour timer runs out. Players must be observant and use their critical thinking skills to escape the room. It´s located at San Martin 64, but you can also book online.
